Comet 17P/Holmes, larger and with more magnification
This photo was taken about a week of my first attempt, and in addition to the comet having grown in size, I captured more detail by imaging through my telescope and stacking more images of various exposures (to capture/preserve different parts of the comet). The first photo gives all of the technical details, while the second photo illustrates just how large Comet Holmes appeared that particular night compared to the moon, M42 and Mars, all of which were up when I photographed the comet. They were done very quickly at the end of the session simply to compare sizes, and so are not the best quality.
